“I don’t think anyone affiliated with the Cavs likes what they saw from backups Ryan Hollins and Luke Harangody. Both played hard, but at this level against an elite team, that’s not enough. Hollins grabbed just one rebound and committed four fouls in 10 minutes, while Harangody was a miserable 1-for-9 shooting. “We need a shooting guard. Badly. With Daniel Gibson and Anthony Parker still hurting, the Cavs had to play Alonzo Gee at SG and it didn’t go particularly well. It’s not that Gee is that terrible at that spot, it’s just that we need him to play elsewhere. Considering Eyenga hasn’t been in a NBA game in what? A year? I thought he looked pretty good. The Cas would be foolish to give up on him anytime soon.
I don’t think the first link was an attact on Gee. It was an attack on the rotation when Gee and Casspi are BOTH out.
I think Casspi can be a contributor, but I think we really need a SF: I actually like Gee much better at the 2 though he can obviously play both positions. More importantly, I don’t think ANYBODY realizes that GEE is a career 39 percent shooter from beyond the arc. Yes you read that correctly. 39 percent!!! Yes, his jump shot can continue to improve, but I feel like people think the guy can’t shoot. He just prefers to go to rack. His real issues have been turnover/decisions related, and he has come a long way with that. This kid… Read more »

Taking Mychel Thompson over Harris and then waiving Thompson has made zero sense so far…
I wish Gee had grown two inches over the summer instead of Eyenga. Then we would have a credible SF. I would still look to draft one, but SG has to be the biggest concern right now.

The only flaw in his game is that he looks to pass it when he’s on the floor with the scrubs on the second unit and should be shooting. It looked like it went well to me. Not signing Manny Harris to a 10 day contract doesn’t make sense to me.
