Hooray, we didn’t fill a single team need despite having the #1,#4, and #32 picks! The funny thing is, I liked the Irving pick and thought the Harper pick was solid. I expect major deals late into the night
Well, Manny Harris ought to be sleeping easier, but Smardo Samuels and Luke Harangody ought to be freshening up their resumes.
Alex, come on, point guard wasn’t a “team need?” Do you think they wanted a late 30′s Baron Davis, or Ramon Sessions at any age, starting at point guard 3 or 4 years from now when the Cavs hope to be an elite contender again? If you’re defining team needs as, what do they need specifically for next season, that’s the wrong way to look at it. Next season the only goals will be developing young talent, not embarrassing themselves (no 30-game losing streaks!) and going into the next draft with at 2 or more lottery picks.
Call me crazy… but a threesome of DWilliams, Valanucius/Vesely and Norris Cole would have had me way more excited than what we ended up with. Couldn’t have taken much to trade up to get Cole.
Brian we got a role player with the number 4 pick in the draft. basically another jj hickson we dont need that
Mark, not arguing with you that Tristan Thompson doesn’t seem like number 4 pick material. But that just shows how thin the draft was. I’d have rather seen them pick Jonas, but the truth is he’s very much a project, too.
