Live Thread: Cavs vs. Celtics (#StayWokeTuesday)

It’s Tuesday again… time to #StayWoke and hope that second day of the week luck kicks in once more for the Cavs as they host the Boston Celtics tonight at the Q. The one guy who won’t #StayWoke though, is the same dude who popularized the saying a while back, Kyrie Irving. It’s curious that Uncle Drew chose not to make this trip to Cleveland, the second avoidance of his former team this year (he also skipped the January 23rd game in Boston).

Although, maybe in the wake of all the nonsense surrounding Irving lately (some self-inflicted, some circumstantial), the woke-est thing he could do is not risk engaging the local media and saying something stupid. With everything from his make-up call to LeBron, to his apparent flip-flopping on his decision about whether or not to re-sign with Boston this summer, to being near the center of the Anthony Davis vortex… maybe Kyrie is #StayingWoke by #StayingHome.

Irving’s absence, and the fact that it’s Tuesday are not the only newsworthy things for the Cavs in this game, however. Since we last saw them on Saturday, they’ve parted ways with Rodney Hood, sending him to Portland for a couple of distant second round picks, little known Baldwin brother Wade, and Nik “Sauce Castillo” Stauskas (rhymes with Ilgauskas). We may see them play, if only because Cedi Osman joins the ranks of the injured (ankle) in addition to Hood being gone.

Prediction: In true exaggerated Tuesday form, I’ll say the Celtics #StayWoke and smoke the Cavs 140-85.

#StayWoke and catch all the flat-planet action starting at 7pm EST on Fox Sports Ohio… and, as always chime in here with any non-sensical opinions about the Cavs, the impending trade deadline, how much you don’t think all that highly of the 2016 title, bizarre science theories, how you “don’t owe anyone sh*t” and what your plans are for the summer…

GO CAVS!
