Podcap: Pelicans 140, Cavs 124 (or, Too Many Blows)

The Cavs had a promising start to the start of their road trip in New Orleans, hitting all eight of their three point attempts as they threatened to run the Pelicans off the floor in the first quarter. It was almost a carbon copy of what the Pacers did the night before in Cleveland to the Cavs. Unfortunately, the tired legs, lack of front court depth, relentless running attack of the birds, and the heavy breathing of the dudes holding the whistles did them in for the remaining three quarters. It gets tiring making nearly 70 trips to the line in one game after all…

Nate and EG whistled their way into the booth to discuss this latest loss, the positive things that might be gleaned from it going forward, and why it seems like Cavs games are so poorly officiated this year. We take a deeper dive into the whole McCaw situation, contemplate the complicated legacy of Dan Gilbert, examine the hazards of tanking under the new lottery rules, and much, much more. Stick around for the end since Nate finally finished Bird Box.
