Live Thread: Cavs vs Nuggets

Well, Cleveland’s last meeting against the Denver Nuggets did not go well, to say the least. It wasn’t so much the final deficit, or even the margin between the two teams throughout the game. It was Cleveland’s complete and utter inability to show even an ounce of defensive capability. The first and second quarters saw the Nuggets score 37 and 36 respectively. That’s inexcusable. Though they managed two 31 point quarters to start the half, they were never able to offer up enough resistance to give themselves a chance.
Luckily for the Cavs, it appears the defensive drain Tristan Thompson is unavailable tonight. Now that Lue is forced to use other players, perhaps Cleveland can show a little more moxie on defense. I expect them to perform better tonight, despite the altitude. Jeff Green should be available tonight, hopefully that doesn’t mean less minutes for Zizic. As always, go Cavs!
watched the replay—-good win at the start of the road trip—good to see Hood get untracked somewhat / confidence builder I hope / ‘L-JR “‘S PRESENCE IS FELT ALL OVER DEFESIVELY —-he had 4 steals plus don’t know how many tips / sealing off driving lanes and overall communication—-ANTE —good to see ty stick with him / somewhat foul prone (although a couple were cheap calls )—needs to work on his footwork ) but he is a big that can give minutes / contribute –will improve with more play –would trust him more than t.t. ——-one area they need to… Read more »
Think it was Nate that said LN-J is a great interview – have to agree, his pre & post game interviews last night were great to watch. He answers questions much like he plays the game. He’s PRESENT, attentive, never in the wrong place. Can’t say how happy I am he is now a Cav.
I’m watching a reborn Cavs team and it’s glorious!! It really makes you see how youth was needed! This is Denver, where everyone complains about the high altitude and often lose.
Playing altitude is no joke, & the Nugs are acclimatised. The effort Cavs gave to win in a tight game was brilliant.
Watched highlights of this game…..think difference in end was Cavs hitting shots more in beginning then Lebron taking over at end to make some tough shots that didn’t happen last time these teams met. Jokic is a beast, forget Porzingis, Jokic is the Unicorn in this league….if he was on Knicks, ESPN and national media would be slobbering over themselves even more. Nice to see Zicic get some minutes again. Seems like team went cold again in second half particularly third quarter. Oh man…Lebron’s postgame interview stating they are still without their All Star PF Kevin Love and…..wait for it……their “CHAMPIONSHIP CENTER, TT”. Wow…..I really thought he would be off of that by now. I hope that TT isn’t the starter when he comes back.
Anyone else feel like that game wouldn’t have been nearly as close if Lue had matched. Nance with jokic’s minutes?

Think the Cavs can get by the Raptors provided TT and JR are in diminished roles. As noted elsewhere, JR didn’t play at all in the 4th. And that was a good move.

I feel like there can be some better passing by the team as a whole either easy points out of pnr to nance or drive and kick outs by others than lebron ect
The no tt , and limited jr is gonna work wonders for us! Really liked all around game tonight , Jokic was unstoppable tonight although he was played well a lot of the time ,
Cavs drop the Nugs out of the playoffs tonight… but can maybe help them back in with a win over the Clips on Friday…
