“I knew deep down in my heart, as much as I loved my teammates back in Cleveland and as much as I loved home, I knew it couldn’t do it by myself against that team,” James said.
My thoughts are as follows: I believe him. Some of you may have more extensive thoughts (which: discuss away in the comment section). I feel obligated to post this, but I really, really hope this is the last time I feel compelled to pass along LBJ-related news unless the Cavs play the Heat in the playoffs.

Lebron is so goddamn good.
Nice way to throw his teammates under the bus.
Now if he loses to Chicago this season and the next, where will he go to?
And no, apologies not accepted.
“I knew I couldn’t do it by myself” sounds like the language of a quitter, especially when Bosh said the only reason he wouldn’t commit to the Cavs last offseason was because LeBron wouldn’t commit and Gilbert was willing to spend whatever it took to put the pieces around LeBron (notwithstanding his temper tantrum after the fact). That tells me that if LeBron commits, then Bosh commits, and then the Cavs would have almost certainly had enough to beat the Celtics, so LeBron just bailed.
well i hope 4 the best.that good he did wat he did.he gave the cavs 7 long yrs anstil they never did nothing 4 him they a cheap team that why.well he is a more more bttr team now i hope 4 the best.go miami all the way.he will pot the ring on.i no.last team to beat the bulls after that is nothing to stop them only rose.
i’m so conflicted as to who to root for in the bulls heat matchup. i was ALREADY conflicted in the boston vs. heat matchup given the hatred towards the celtics and a small voice inside of me rooting for the guy from ohio. now it’s two cavs’ traitors head to head in boozer vs. lebron. lebron apologizing may shift me towards the heat. BUT no doubt whoever comes out of the west i’m definitely rooting for
What a schmuck. If you don’t think you can win, you can’t win. That’s why LeBron quit the last two years. That’s why he quit in the finals against the Spurs before he ever stepped on court. What a monumental egomaniac.
Too little too late…
As much as I hate Noah, Go Bulls!
A 19 win team is not a playoff contender. If Lebron says he cannot do it by himself, I believe him. He tried for seven years. Bosh is not the missing piece, as Miami is aware of now. You need a Wade level talent to contend in these playoffs. The Bulls have two all-stars. The Mavs have four. OKC has two and a future third in Ibaka. Let us not forget that a significant number of Cle wins last season came form Davis. Cle was awful at putting together the pieces. A chance at Stoudamire, Kidd, Redd, all ended in failure and an unwillingness to pull the trigger. When will Believeland hold the management accountable instead of a twenty-something phenom? Delonte West, Mo Williams, Varejao, Ilgauskus, do not a championship make. They are each good in their own right, but the playoffs are for greats. It is not Lebron’s job to recruit. That is on the city and the management.
Well, I’m glad he actually said it and sound sincere. It’s another backhanded insult to the Cavs when he says ‘do it by myself’, but truly, he would have had to do it by himself.
With that said, understand that he Cavs record this year wasn’t solely because of LBJ, we also lost Big Z, Shaq and Delonte, plus Andy down for most of the season too. Anytime a team looses that much of their main group of players from one year to the next they are going to have a significantly worse record.
It’s funny.. people hate LeBron so much. LeBron WAS Cleveland. He did his time there and couldn’t get it done.. big deal… It NEVER gets done in Cleveland.. why are you surprised? As far as restrictions, you didn’t OWN the guy. He has the right to go wherever he pleases. The NBA trades players like slaves every season and no one turns a head… it’s the rules of the game and specifically the rules that the NBA adheres to. Simply stated, Cleveland fans are the worst. You are so hard on a person for continuing their career that you scare off the possibility of a potential person coming there. It’s your fault. I don’t feel sorry.. I actually enjoyed seeing who would end up with some of the worst records in the NBA between LAC, WAS and CLE. It seemingly felt like redemption and truly, this only proves how bad a team really is until one person leaves. Nevermind the outlying factors like V, Z, West, Williams and old azz Shaq… these guys (with the exception of Shaq) wouldn’t even start for other teams, period. The only reason Z starts for MIA is because their lack of size.. and even then, the guy is still the softest in the NBA as proven by Rondo last year. So CLE, I was really wishing for you guys to have the worst record… I failed.. congrats.. you beat me on that. lol
Oh my goodness. The man had nothing to apologize for, he was with Cleavland for 7 yrs get over it. This is how the business works. Basketball is a team game, if one person is driving or (holding him back from progress ) he should have left. Cleavland is mad because LeBron is all they had, they were a weight around his neck. Where he is is where he should be. Apologies do not come lightly as I stated before he did not have to say anything, but he did. This shows that there were some emotional attachment that he felt to the city and the team. If you don’t want the apology don’t take it. Sit in Cleavland and boil, LeBron will be making his money and playing the game with a (team) like he should be. they act like they were married and he cheated on them, and the owner of team needs to grow up. The more he acts up and keeps talking it just proves that LeBron made the right choice more & more.
Hey Non-Cavs fans: WTF are you doing spending your time on this website? Y’all certainly don’t know how to party. As for LeQuit, the reason why we are hung up on it is that he repeatedly promised to bring a championship to the city. Then there was that disastrous Celtics series last year. Then “THE DECISION.” The Cavs fan feels a general sense of disappointment with the whole thing. So guess what? Now don’t root for the guy. Is that such a crime?
Dr. Party
I love our society now where if enough time passes, truth becomes boring and contrarian views are all in vogue. LeBron dicked over the Cavs and the fans. As fans, we HATE him in that we root for him to lose, hope he embarrasses himself, etc etc. Suddenly we’re in the wrong and our “sports hate” is so callous that we have to be called out on our blogs.
I think it’s funny – the tiny legion of LeBron fans out there. As if he gives 1/2 of a fruit fly bowel movement about you, and you need to come to his defense or something. The guy has all the talent in the world, all the money, all the fame, but what he doesn’t have is loyalty – the one thing he wants you to think he has. Actions speak louder than words.
As for his apology – LeBron says/does whatever he thinks will make him look the way he wants to look. he has the most obsessively manicured image – even if half the time he makes stupid decisions (no pun intended) about what he thinks that should be. But make no mistake, everything is a facade. His whole primal roar after beating the Celtics, as if he was some kind of underdog….what a joke. Slaming the ball around, dancing, feeling “vindicated” for leaving the Cavs or whatever – LeBron lies to himself as much as he lies to everyone else. And then he starts feeling good so he decides to give the most backhanded compliment ever to the Cavs – I love you guys BUT….
He’s a joke – and when he wins an NBA title (which is inevitable at this point) everyone will love him and in a year all his apologist fans (like us before them) will write all the hero stories about his character. But make no mistake – LeBron is a Triple A Rated Douche – that happens to be an incredible basketball talent.
I shouldn’t say he’s a joke – he’s not a joke – he’s a tragedy. And I’ll never agree with anyone who says he’s not the best basketball player in the NBA. he is – and that makes it even worse.
Agree with almost everything Tsunami said. Not a lifelong Clevelander or Cleveland fan; my family moved to OH in 2002 and had never had a pro basketball team near enough to go to games before. We got season tickets, and then landed Lebron, and it was a great 7 years.
Tsunami is right that Lebron’s image is completely contrived. Even when I think he’s sincere now, I still don’t believe it, because I don’t want to be a sucker. All of that being said though, he is an amazing basketball player, and I still like to watch him. Sure, I laugh when he takes heat checks when before I would cringe, and yes, I laugh when he dribbles off his foot or misses a clutch shot, but I also get excited when he does something great, and since I can’t do anything for the Cavs but cheer for them, go to games, and pray they win the lotto, I don’t feel bad at all about watching Lebron the player overcome his personal demons and finally get his ring. I don’t think he’ll ever equal Jordan in pretty much anything, but I do think he will be great, and I’m not going to miss out on it because of a grudge.
Derrick Rose is seeming to have a good playoff on his own…James you quit on us….you know you had enough talent to handle the team on your own
