Can the Cleveland Cavaliers win two in a row? Now that their four-game losing streak is a thing of the past, LeBron James and Company will attempt to get back to .500 with a Sunday afternoon game against the Atlanta Hawks.
While the Hawks played the Cavaliers extremely well last season, this isn’t last year’s team. With a 1-8 record, the Hawks are currently tied with the Sacramento Kings for the second-worst record in the NBA. Still, they could provide a test for the Cavaliers’ perimeter defense. Dennis Schroeder is averaging 21 points a game, and Taurean Prince is shooting 47% from three this season. Prince continues to make strides in his second year, and looks like a real building block for this team. While Kent Bazemore has struggled with his shot thus far, both he and Marco Belinelli are the kind of veteran wings who cannot be ignored.
Still, this game will come down to effort for the Cavaliers. If they play with intensity the entire game, they’ll likely win. If they loaf through the early part of the game like they have so many times this season, then they’ll give the Hawks confidence and the chance to pull off the upset. Hopefully we’ll see the Cavaliers who have shown up against the Bucks, Celtics, and Wizards this season.

to be honest lebron only has taken 13 shots…that’s not gonna get us any wins unfortunately
They need to start Korver. They actually run sets when he’s on the floor which gets things moving and spreads the floor. He hustles and though his man to man foot speed isn’t stellar he plays smart team D. The Cavs defensive woes are exacerbated by their long cold stretches at the offensive end.
Yep. Pretty sad when 37 year old Korver is your second most vital player.
ok cavs…you got freakin lucky on that missed putback (although taylor shoved off like a mofo)…just 4 more stops this game and no lost possessions on offense and you win. why does that feel like too much to ask?
based on percentages alone i’m willing to let korver shoot every shot the rest of the way

I am currently unclear on how this team gets better defensively. I mean two 37 point quarters to the Hawks. How do they get better if they can’t limit the 26th most efficient offensive teams from getting two 37 point quarters?
They’ll get better by trying! Actually giving some effort late in the 4th and they cut into the lead.
I mean yeah, but I am still unsure this team can be engaged for more than a quarter. Even in the second I think Schroeder didn’t play much because of foul trouble. Subsequently the Hawks were limited. They tried against Wash limited Wall but still gave up what 124? The Hawks are a bad offense too.

can we please remember the let refs know the rule for flagrant foul??? cuz that is ridiculous. You just have to let a guy dunk it cuz he just jumps wildly into the air? This is bullcrap

I’ve never seen a team with Lebron play so poorly for such an extended period of time.
Lue has clearly lost the team. They look like they are playing pickup ball against organized teams. That doesn’t work at this level.
What changes can the Cavs make? What good coach would step in to this quagmire?
Is it just coach Lue? Something I can’t fault him about is just how poorly constructed this team from the off-season. Also some guys just plainly suck right now.

How Lue allowed Rose to linger 7 disastrous minutes on the floor is beyond me. Clearly this isn’t the time to give shot Wade extended minutes yet Lue stubbornly didn’t make any adjustment.

Cavs making Prince into an AS
Not watching, but sounds like more of the same. Another 8-10 point deficit at half to a trash team.
Seems like our main problem is that we suck.
On the plus side, we are on track to give up less than 13 threes this game. Granted the Hawks have made half of their threes, but still.
DWade Jas to score 19 a half to justify the amount of times he gets blown by on D. DRose is not any better. Why do we play 4 guys on the perimeter w/ Rose & Wade at the wing & point? Effort aside, Lue has no clue what he’s doing. Thank God he can “handle egos”
Somehow LBJ played 19 minutes that half. He seemed like he was out forever in the second. Did Lue play him the entire first?
I’m checking out on this one, gonna watch my Crew in the MLS playoffs, at least they are trying.
We did better defensively and worse offensively somehow. Wade had himself a half. Pretty ok d and a major scoring boost, probably the only thing that allowed us to stay in that second quarter along with decent team defense and a bunch of Hawks turnovers.
Love needs to show up on offense.

Notice Frye and Zizic haven’t played, even with TT out. Lue is terrible.
Cavs ice cold and getting hacked on top of that. 2 points in the last 5 minutes. We need IT to get healthy. This is when we miss Kyrie (I kind of throw up in my mouth when I say that).
IT is also good at flipping so this would play right into Brothers hands.

this is a pathetic end to the half and something Lue should pull starters for. There’s no reason for Crowder to be in the game if he’s not gonna do anything. There’s no reason for Love to be in there if you’re not going to use him on offense.

Tony Brothers & crew call the most anticipation calls in the league. Or they look late and see the reaction, but not the fall (if it ever existed) & blow the whistle. Bellinelli’s flop & Love in the circle on the charge (not) are two examples.
The did get the flagrant right, however. Still, they are generally poor. If you don’t see it, then don’t call it.

The starters have been terrible. Love, Bron, JR, & Rose in particular. Wade has been fantastic. Cedi played some decent D.
