Breaking: Kendrick Perkins Is Back In Town (for a couple of weeks)

The Cavs invited Kendrick Perkins to training camp according to Joe Vardon of Cleveland.com. Perkins is an NBA vet who won a title with the Boston Celtics in 2008 and spent some time with the Cavs during the 2015 season.
He’s never been a game changing player on the floor putting up career averages of 5.8 rebounds and 5.4 points. However, he brings something to the locker room, which is a huge part of why he always seems to be around Championship teams. He spent three years with the Thunder and went to the Finals with them. He was even a starter for part of that time, despite never averaging more than five points while playing over twenty minutes a night.
When he joined the Cavs he rarely played, but he made an impact when he did. His most memorable moment came when he leveled Jae Crowder with a nasty screen after Kelly Olynyk practiced for his MMA career on Kevin Love during a first round playoff game.
On a side note, how will Jae Crowder feel now that two of the other 18 players (J.R. Smith backhanded him that same series) in training camp have aimed punches at him.

Agree wholeheartedly on the point about Lue relying too heavily on vets in the regular season. Then gives them all day(s) off while the scrubs get killed. Worst of both worlds, heavy mins for vets, no meaningful play for youngsters. We want to be spry & healthy for June & we have a ton of vets or guys with injury issues for whom we need to limit minutes (Rose, IT, James, Love, Korver, Frye, RJ), let Osman & Zizic play some. Even Holland or Tavares/Felder.

Lebron is totally leaving. If you actually listen to what he said, unprompted, he pointed specifically to 2010 and 2014 as examples of his professionalism in handling the last years of his contracts. He could’ve mentioned several other years in which he re-signed, but he picked the two when he left.

You’re free to think what you want, but I promise I’m not trolling. I’ve been an all-in Cavs fan my whole life, and obviously I want Lebron to stay forever. And it’s possible he hasn’t made up his mind about things yet, sure. Just watch the tape. He never actually said any words about staying, he just answered “yes” enough times to get the reporters to stop asking the question, then brought up 2010 and 2014 unprompted. Hopefully I’m wrong.
I think you’re reading into it too much. Not saying he’s leaving or staying, but he doesn’t know at this point.

We can cut him any time, I believe we just can’t trade him until December. It’s actually funny about Calderon and being immediately cut; Golden State signed him last year, but Durant got hurt that day, so GS decided to cut Calderon and sign Matt Barnes instead. Just a funny story.
