Kings gave away good players (including Isaiah Thomas and Hassan Whiteside), made insanely bad deals (Stauskas & flotsam to Sixers for protected first and right to swap first rounders in two other drafts), and signed questionable vets (Rondo, Gay, Lawson) in attempts to go all in to finally make the playoffs… then they pull the rip cord on Boogie and have basically nuked their already dysfunctional franchise back into the NBA stone age…
Yeah, but they have a new arena, so it’s all good…
I guess the Cavs do have a 2018 second to convey. I barely understand it, but I think they do.

Sounds like they’re not waiving or moving McLemore (at least per the Lowe & Windy discussion on Lowe Post pod today)… Boogie is still going to want things his way though, and AD isn’t exactly a seasoned NBA vet/leader yet… Could easily turn into a bad situation in the locker room… they should go get Calipari to coach them…
I think this will turn out to be a bad deal for both teams in hindsight… Kings sold low on Cousins and now have an even bigger mess on their hands as their incessant rebuild has no center to build around… Pellies are going to find it a lot tougher than they thought to make the playoffs since they realistically only have a shot at the 8th seed (they are 9 back of 7th seed OKC with 27 games to go), and Denver (the #2 scoring team in the league so far in 2017 behind a newly dominant Jokic) is… Read more »
Could be bad for both, but even if Boogie leaves when his contract is up, Pels didn’t mortgage th future, and they really didn’t give up much. I agree though that signing Boogie long term is a huge risk — I wouldn’t do it. At least until he demonstrated over the long haul that he could be a professional, and not be a constant a-hole to everyone. It’s staggering how incompetent the Kings ownership/ front office is. You’re right, they didn’t mortgage future, but they haven’t exactly been stellar in their drafting anyway (outside of AD who was the consensus #1 and they took him in a no brainer)… As for Boogie, he was involved in an altercation outside of a NY nightclub just this season off the court, and gets suspended one game for every technical foul he gets assessed from here out on the court…

Yeah, like I keep joking here, I wanted Ainge to get Boogie so he could totally destroy their franchise. I think he’s not worth all the BS he’s always surrounded with…I wouldn’t want him on my team, and I think it’s as likely as not that he’ll be a huge PITA in NO. But they can always cut ties after next season if he’s poison…
