So I’m not going speak much about the terrible spanking that happened on Martin Luther King Jr. Day between the Cavs and the Warriors, other than the major storylines that we couldn’t have missed if we tried.

I’m sure Cavs fans expected there to be another Draymond Green incident at some point.  Green answered the call by blindsiding LeBron during a transition opportunity, sending King James sprawling to the hardwood.  While some questioned whether the play was as dirty as it looked in real-time or if LeBron had embellished the contact a bit, Coach Lue determined there was no question surroundiung Draymond’s intent:

Said Coach Lue

“He didn’t want LeBron to get in the open court and get a dunk or a lay-up. He took a hard foul. He wanted to send a message to our team.”

Even after Green crashed into James it was obvious he was trying to make a statement when he was mocking James’ flop to Warriors fans. We get it Draymond, you relish being a villain and you have no qualms about disrespecting the Champs – you keep on doing the hot-headed thing, we’ll see who it benefits in the long run.

Other than that incident, you couldn’t miss how the Cavs’ 3-point shooting was just WAY off while the Splash Brothers each drained five 3s.  As if that wasn’t enough, Andre Iguodala made all seven of his shots and even converted both of his free throws. They’re a team with great shooters and ball movement and they brought the pain against the Wine and Gold.

Thankfully, it was only one game. The Cavs got back in the Win column with a home victory over the Suns and now have the opportunity for a quality win against the perennially dominant San Antonio Spurs – which would certainly help wash away the stain of the drubbing at the hands of the Dubs.

After holding a 4-0 record against The Warriors since the Finals and lacking a Smith and a Love, it was natural the Warriors would punch back with a vengeance. It  may have been brutal, but it was only one game and it won’t mean anything once playoff time is here.

In other news:

I’m tired of hearing all this talk about Carmelo Anthony coming to Cleveland. As I scroll through my twitter feed, all I see is “Carmelo going to the Cavs,” or “Anthony to unite with his good friend James?”.

No.

That’s really all that needs to be said, but I guess I can explain why I feel that way.

So if you’re not on social media or haven’t seen anything on TV, it has been rumored that Carmelo Anthony may be ready to discuss a trade from his long-time team, the Knicks. Now this is just rumored, not set in stone.

In a quote that came from Frank Isola of the New York Daily NewsAnthony said:

According to FoxSports, it was said that Anthony favored three teams if he did get traded, the Cavs, the Clippers and the Bulls.

If you ask me, he does not need to come to Cleveland. I have two reasons: first, with the new addition of Kyle Korver, The Cavs have more than enough shooting and scoring prowess.  There is no need for someone with Anthony’s skill set.  Secondly, if Cleveland did get Anthony, it would most likely mean they traded Kevin Love. With Kev playing better and better as he gets more comfortable in his role each day, it would not be a favorable swap going forward.
