Kyrie Wins All-Star MVP!

Sorry in advance about the brevity…behind 15 fourth quarter points and totalling 31 with 14 assists, Kyrie Irving lead the Eastern Conference to an All-Star victory, winning MVP for his efforts. Awesome work, Kyrie!
He and Dion dominated the Friday and Sunday night events of the weekend. Hopefully that level of fun and excellent play carries over into tomorrow night against Philly.

Of course he had a great game that requires him to play no defense. Guy is talented but this doesn’t mean shit.
Because Kyrie knows he can’t leave without giving up several million dollars of guaranteed money, he might as well make the best of it.
The above comments sum up what is for me, and many Cavs fans, the roller coaster of reality this year–trying to enjoy a positive moment or two while seeing only pain in the rearview and a foggy future in the windshield. I do not blame ANYONE for withholding immediate cheers for Kyrie’s performance (and insert painful Cleveland memory here); tough to shake a feeling that he’s auditioning for someone else sometimes. Ben, All-Star games also have the best players in the world and Kyrie was the best of them last night. When they started playing defense in the 4th he scored 15 points. He led every other player with 14 assists. Curry was second with 12. He led the East in points (31) at the same time as leading both in assists. Durant and Griffin were the only players that scored more (38). The confidence it builds in him and in his teammates is immeasurable. Sweet Baby Rays, I can’t believe people can even begin to talk about Kyrie’s vision on cutters or Mike Brown’s offense in reference to an All-Star Game…. People, All-Star games have ZERO weakside defense. In the fourth quarter, they start playing some occasionally awake onball D, but there is still NO system and NO rotation. Even I would get a few dimes in an All-Star game. Kyrie and Dion played and represented Cleveland very well in an EXHIBITION game. I’m a very pleased. They did the best they could have done. @Grover13 No, if you clog the lane many of those drives result in lockouts for open catch and shoots or cuts to the basket. But you are right we are running nowhere near the right offense. Pick and rolls with Kyrie and Dion taking turns. Guys spotting up in the weak side corner or pick and pops with someone else cutting to the rim. Nobody can stop Kyrie or Dion from getting to the paint, the coaching staff needs to better take advantage of that. Not to piss too much on what is no doubt an incredible individual achievement by Kyrie, but: THE GOOD: That game shows how good Kyrie’s vision is in finding cutters to the hoop. (Unfortunately, Mike Brown doesn’t run an offense that has guys cutting to the hoop. But that’s not Kyrie’s fault.) THE BAD: As beautiful as some of his drives and finishes were around the hoop….if the first half taught us anything, it’s that if you clog the lane- which doesn’t happen in all-star games- many of those drives result in turnovers and/or blocks. It does make it a lot easier to get open shots … So does the defense that was played until the 4th. First rate players make 14 assists attainable too.

Yes, although not by the Cleveland fans. It was disgusting how many Cavs fans online and on the radio were hating Kyrie for his selection. No kidding Kyrie wants to leave ASAP, fortunately for us (and he knows this) the soonest he can leave is ~6 seasons.
Jon Barry is a clown. On Mike and Mike this morning he stated Kyrie should get out of Cleveland because no one knows who he is??? Wasn’t he voted to the All-Star game by the fans?

Wait. Was Kyrie able to shoot 14-17 because he was surrounded by first rate players?
