I felt sad just watching that whole video, especially the interview. I’m really confused about whats up with him: Its so out of character. Putting aside the trolls who will inevitably say he has always been a choker, apart from his first playoff run where he was overwhelmed and inexperienced, he has always been a player who ups his game and plays harder when it matters. I cant believe he has simply given up or decided he is leaving. Im sure we will find out at some point whats wrong with him. Heres hoping for a great game 6 and 7.
that post should have been from me… Was last making a joke comment under delonte’s name : )
(see a couple threads ago too not laugh)
I’m glad we have Shaq. If this thing ends badly, Shaq at one point or another will tell us the real story of wtf is going on. BTW, in case no1 has noticed, Shaq has actually outplayed Perkins when you look at the series in its’ entireity.
The interview is probably what set me off more than anything last night listening to it on the way home on the radio. He feels sorry for HIMSELF? He has spoiled us so much that we should just go ahead and accept a disappearance in the most important game of the season….really? Just a very angering interview when what needed to be said was “I sucked. I take the blame for that loss.”
Anyway, can anyone tell me where to find shot charts from old games? Specifically looking for game 2s shot chart against Orlando from last year.
1. Great vid John, Thanks for posting.
2. Lebron has been so consistently crazy good, this series is almost impossible to process. Never before have I found myself wondering if it is possible that someone’s mojo was actually stolen.
/// hoping that was not the last home game of the Lebron era
It won’t be, chamois. I’m going on record right now and saying this: The Cavs will BLOW OUT the celtics in game 6 and force game 7. LeBron will actually play like LeBron, and the rest of the team will follow, like they have the other times in these playoffs in which LeBron played well.
Now, I dunno if they can win game 7, but I’m guaranteeing game 6, if that actually matters.
Rich, I’l back that bet. I say… *thinks long and hard* 38 points, on 13 of 21 shooting. 9 assists, 7 rebounds.
Its gonna happen.
Rich,
You’re definitely right in saying that whatever happens, Shaq will end up letting the cat out. If it was “win a ring for the king” before the season, we’ll surely be seeing some verbal regicide once it’s all over with.
I still believe, man. I still believe. Imagine what the Red Sox fans must have been thinking when their team was down 3-0 to the Yankees… that’s kinda how we all feel.
Go LeBron. Go Cavs.
Win.
game.
6.
period.
it really is no use jumping on Lebron today. Yesterday was a day for mourning, for doubts, for self-reckoning. Today is the day to think, to regain the dream, to find the ability to believe again. Tomorrow is the day for the most nervous and distracted eight hour work day of our lives. And to find, somehow, the fortitude to actually watch game six. I’m scared to turn it on.
The Monstars stole LeBron’s talent.
Why does everyone blame the team – it is our coaching staff led by Mike Brown that is the problem. The Celtics have Doc Rivers and his coaching staff that are making adjustments to shut our team down and make the Celtics more effective – last night was proof of this – Mike Brown is confused and cannot make up a strategy to let the best players in the league win! GET RID OF MIKE BROWN – HE HAS RIDDEN THE COAT TAILS OF LEBRON LONG ENOUGH!!!!!!!!
Yes Bradley. Yes. That is best explanation I’ve heard all day.
BradleyH with the comment of the playoffs so far.
William Wesley told Lebron to tank it, but tank it without people really noticing.
Lebron blew the second part.
Anyone else been thinking that LeBron would be dealing with this slump (elbow?) thing better if he had developed more of a post game?
I’ve always defended against that sentiment, since we already expect so much of him, but if he had a consistent 10-15 foot game I bet he’d be playing more like himself.
BTW Rich on the shot charts. Right here.
ITS NOT OVER YET, 2 GAMES TO PLAY WITH THE BEST PLAYER IN THE NBA. IF ANYONE CAN DO IT, ITS LEBRON. This is now how cleveland fans act, we need to stand by our team, our boy from Akron and get this done.
Something’s obviously wrong here. Everyone posting on this site knows it, and everyone on that team knows it. I’m usually as optimistic as they come (with the exception of these playoffs), but since LeBron’s elbow injury I’ve had a hard time getting myself pumped up for games. I usually expect to see LeBron put up the big numbers, now I can only hope it will happen. AND, even if it does happen, it’s never guaranteed that he will do the same in the next game. This elbow injury is heartbreaking for many, and I can only imagine how ‘Bron is feeling.
Hopefully they can pull it out, but if not… not all hope is lost. If LeBron does stay, we’ll get a new coach, and hopefully a new SG, and we may be heading in an even more promising direction. If not, all bets are off… but at least we can pray…
This is where legends are born baby! Go Shaq!
That’s what I wanted Ben. A game where LeBron only hit 3 outside shots, but dominated the game by going inside against the best paint defender in the league. Where was that last night?
Bill Simmons article today pretty much sums it up. This is it. This is LeBrons moment. Fall flat on his face again and this series will follow him to his grave. Blow the roof off of the Garden tommorow night and suddenly the view of the world changes.
Here are the final 3 paragraphs from Simmons that I think pretty much put all my feelings into words.
“The e-mails kept pouring in — same themes, same thoughts. Maybe LeBron has been hearing those voices the whole time. Maybe his teammates just suck. Maybe Boston is better. Maybe LeBron isn’t as good as we thought. Maybe he’s more injured than we know. Maybe sports doesn’t always make sense. There are no answers, just maybes. And since he’s only 25 years old, it’s too early to say that this week could define LeBron’s legacy. Obviously.
At the same time, every career has a tipping point when you have to pour cement on the foundation of a career, have it harden and say, “How this plays out will probably determine who this player is going to be.” For Jordan, it was the 1991 Finals. For Bird, it was the 1984 Finals. For Ewing, it was the 1994 Finals. For Magic, it was the 1985 Finals. For Malone, it happened late (the 1997 Finals). For Kobe, it happened early (the 2000 Finals). And so on. Always — without fail — it happens in the Finals, because it’s the ultimate test of pressure.
Only this time, with LeBron James, it’s happening right now. Round 2. At the age of 25. With the weight of a city on his shoulders. With a big decision looming. With the stench of a dreadful Game 5 still lingering. With an experienced Boston team (and crowd) waiting. On Thursday night, the cement will be poured for LeBron James. It’s time. I have no idea what will happen, and neither do you.” – Bill Simmons.
I, too, thought Simmons was pretty spot on with his assessment. I admire all you predicting a win tomorrow night. I hope you’re right, but I can’t bring myself to believe it yet. This series has been that unsettling. All year, I expected the Cavs to win every game. When they didn’t win, I was surprised. I always felt comfortable. But I haven’t felt comfortable with the team this entire postseason. Here’s hoping I’m wrong.
Rich,
I am not sure whether to feel excited or terrified after reading that article. I’m going to be drinking heavily tomorrow night.
haha the Monstars.. I love it, BradleyH.
King…King of what? Getting to the Finals one time in 6 years (so far) does not a King maketh. Kobe is 6 for 14…LBJ, 1 in 6, Kobe 1 in 2. Hmmm…same moneyline for Championship 2010. By 25 yrs old Bron should be more mature and responsible- his hampering character flaw…ego. YOU ARE NOT THE GREATEST EVEN IF EVERYONE TELLS YOU THAT YOU ARE HOMEBOY. All is forgiven if he transforms to either a winner or gives up the large ego…which will come first? I’m guessing he’s a few seasons away.
It ain’t over till the fat lady sings. I’ve seen crazier comebacks in my day. Go cavs!
I have this LeBron bobble head on my desk. It’s a nicely made one of his MVP ceremony from last year. It’s been sitting here staring at me, wobbling side to side as I type. I can’t even look at it anymore. This is sad, like a breakup.
@Kevin – I just pimped out my basement in Cavs stuff. Took me the better part of a week.
Hey, who needs a basement anyways?
I was about to say that Bradley. It certainly looks that way.
