With his performance in last years rookie vs sophomore game there is no way he could have been left off the team.
Ten seems like the low end of projected all-star trips. Congrats Uncle Drew!
Awesome. So glad we get to watch this kid night in night out. Seems like just yesterday guys like Bill Simmons were questioning why you’d want to draft a guy number 1 overall who would probably never even make and all-star appearance. Year two he’s already proving them wrong. Such a blast to follow.
Simmons ate his words on that a few months later and he’s gushed about KI ever since. He actually tweeted today about Irving being in elite company of being an under 21 year-old All-Star. I think Simmons has gotten spread a little to thin between Grantland/Columns/Podcasts (which are cake) and the studio show. You can tell he’s wearing too many hats to know about everything. He’s been way off with the NBA and NFL drafts. He lambasted the Waiters selection until Chad Ford told him that Dion’s most fitting NBA comp was Wade. Simmons then simply said “huh.” Still love his show and he’s a great ambassador for the game.
Congrats Kyrie!!!!
With the way defense is played in the AS game, Kyrie is going to go straight HAM. Ankles will be broken.
Yeah, I don’t think anyone knew how good KI could be when he was drafted. Heck, I wanted Derick Williams. Everyone thought KI’s ridiculous Duke numbers were an aberration. They weren’t. Drafting KI was incredibly fortunate. Excited to see TT and Dion in the the rookie-sophomore game. Does anyone know if Kyrie plays in that game because he made the allstar squad?
Bad news on making the allstar squad is it bumps up the amount of money he’s eligible to make when he’s due for an extension.
Ten all-stars? You’re selling him short, Kevin.
