A decent on the Cavs’ young backcourt and the upcoming season. But the real treat is the interview of Byron Scott at the end. This is a coach to be proud of. Here’s the link.

Kevin, I Just wanted you, as the only other guy who seemed excited about Leuer, that there were multiple reports of Svott loving Jon so far!! Yes! Though on the flip side, Hollinger thinks that he will not be as efficient as he was last season. So…
Hollinger still projected Leuer with a 14.91 PER next season. I’m not sure if I mentioned this in the podcast yesterday, but that is about what I expect to. My guess is that TT, Leuer, and Zeller all post PER’s around 14 – 15, with AV doing a tad better than that. That’s not a bad frontline.
Agreed. Plus, I like the fact that Leuer brings a different skill set to the frontline compared to what we’ve had the last few years.
Here’s what Scott actually said about him: “Scott thinks he can earn some minutes at power forward and pick up some of the scoring slack left with the departure of Antawn Jamison.
“He’s a guy who can take up a little bit of what Antawn did for us because he is a guy who can stretch the floor,” Scott said. ” He does have 3-point range. But he’s a lot more athletic than people think he is, as well. He’s probably a lot tougher than people think he is.
“I think in those three areas is where he can help us.”
I think Leuer is really going to be useful as he has a very complementary game to both Andy and TT. He and Zeller are far more athletic than people realize. We might not have guys who can jump out of the gym (TT can, but it takes him 8 minutes to get off the floor) but our frontline is very fast and should be drastically improved on the defensive end. I’m still a bit concerned with our defensive rebounding. Andy is the only very strong rebounder on that end, but at least our guards are good rebounders to help out. Obviously, our offensive rebounding should be a huge strength.
If each of our rotation big men our at 15 and above, we will be in great shape. That isn’t so easy to do.
