Time to start scouring the lists of 2013 free agents. What player does not want to sign up with an organization sitting on money to burn that is fronted by Team USA’s point guard of the future?
UPDATE: C.J. Miles is going to join the Cavs on a two-year deal. (No word yet re: dollar amount.) The free agents are already lining up at the Q…

Man, Kyrie would fit right in with team USA. Shooting 3’s, breaking down defenders 1-on-1 off the dribble, not even pretending to play defense? Check, check, and check.
Here’s hoping Kyrie having the ball in his hands a lot will keep CJ from chucking.
This shouldn’t do anything but help our position with Gee. As far as Miles is concerned, he had an awful year last year, but even that awful season was about what Gee put up in his best. He has shown himself to be a somewhat productive player at times and easily lost at others. He has the Simmons’ “irrational confidence” that can occasionally be a good thing but often hurts shooting percentage. He is an average defender at best, but is pretty strong. If we don’t have Gee, we have literally no one on the team who can competently defend the 2.
A player with lots of offensive talent doesn’t shoot 38% for the season.
Very happy we finally went after somebody, Especially a 25 year old wing player with lots of offensive talent. The Cavs should definitely be aggressive with Alonzo Gee now… Offer him a decent multi year deal and if he doesn’t take it, rescind the qualifying offer. I’m fine with watching a CJ Miles/Omri Casspi duo at the 3 this year and I don’t need to watch Alonzo Gee one more season if we know he’s not going to be playing in Cleveland in the future.
According to the PD story up now, Miles turned down more “lucrative” offers to sign w/Cleveland. FWIW…
I know I tend to put a positive spin on most things but don’t I remember Miles lighting up the Cavs a couple times in the last few years? Not that really means anything, I know but still…
